National Health Insurance Company (NHIC) is a life, accident and health insurance company based in Houston, Texas.

NHIC is domiciled in Texas and authorized to do business in 48 states as well as the District of Columbia (not licensed in Florida or New York).

NHIC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Houston International Insurance Group, Inc. (HIIG), a Texas holding company formed by Stephen Way to make acquisitions and investments in the insurance industry.

HIIG is headquartered in Houston, Texas, with property and casualty insurance companies; a life & health insurance company; and underwriting agency subsidiaries. HIIG has more than $1 billion in total assets; $625 million in investment assets; and almost $250 million in shareholders equity.
